Terms & Conditions

Welcome to the online home of Rockin’ K Publishers, LLC! Please review the below terms and conditions, because they might be important at some point (you never know). I promise to keep it brief and within the “three Cs” of technical writing: clear, concise, and comprehensive.

Ownership

This site (rockinkpublishers.com) is owned, operated, designed, built, and maintained by Rockin’ K Publishers, LLC. All of the images and other materials used on this website, save for a few book cover images which were generated by Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing “Cover Creator” utility, are owned by Rockin’ K Publishers, LLC, or are used under license, permission, or other formal agreement.

By accessing this site, you enter into an agreement with Rockin’ K Publishers, LLC: to abide by all applicable laws and these terms and conditions. Since that is the case, please read through this page carefully and ensure that you know the laws that apply to your use. If you don’t agree with these terms and conditions, you may leave this site. Do you have questions or issues with this site? Please send them to us at darylk@rockinkpublishers.com.

Rockin’ K Publishers, LLC, reserves the right to modify or amend this agreement at any time without notice. Please read through the contents of this page regularly to ensure that you don’t miss any changes.

Access & Use

This section generally gets very verbose and annoying. This is the exhaustive, long-winded list of things on this site that are protected, how they are protected, and why you shouldn’t mess with it. I think this is best put into a short list of bullet points.

The blanket statement always comes first. It’s important, so I’ll summarize it here. Everything on this site is protected. See that little copyright notice at the bottom of the page? It means this site and everything contained herein is legally protected. Individual images and text snippets from published works probably (most likely) have another layer of copyright protection. Doesn’t matter how you get it. Doesn’t matter how you store it. Doesn’t matter how (or even if) you send it to someone else. Don’t steal my stuff! Big trouble.

  • I do my own graphic design and contract book cover art.

  • Our authors write their own books.

  • I write my own website content.

  • I designed and created my company logo.

  • Don’t steal my stuff!

There you have it. Recommending that people visit my site: good! Stealing stuff from my site: bad.

Linked Sites

This one is fairly easy to understand. Websites contain links, both internal (within the site) and external (to other sites). At times, Rockin’ K Publishers, LLC may include external links from this site to another one. Please do not mistake our links to other sites as our company having any relationship with those sites or the individuals/companies that own/control them. We are not responsible for their sites, as they are not responsible for ours. We recommend that you read the equivalent of this page on other sites you visit, since their terms and conditions may be different than our own.

Liability & Warranties

This section is all about the “oops” factor of life and how it’s not our fault. I’m serious.

We want this website to always be the best it possibly can, but things happen that are beyond our control: power fails, lightning strikes, hackers hack, servers go down, et cetera. This is the internet, folks. Weird things happen sometimes. Because of that simple, somewhat frightening fact, Rockin’ K Publishers, LLC cannot provide any warranties or accept liability regarding this site’s content or availability.

Indemnity

Oh, look! Another fancy word used by legal types to say, “we’re protected against guilt and financial penalty.” This really goes to the agreement we alluded to earlier. We’re providing you with a cool, informative website. However, things outside our control do happen, and you’re using this site “as is.” Therefore, if anything outside your expectations happens, you agree to not hold Rockin’ K Publishers, LLC liable.

Agreement Modularity

This agreement we’re talking about is serious business, and it’s modular. The law changes slightly over time. If any portion of this agreement becomes unenforceable because it becomes null, void, or even unlawful, that portion can be broken off without affecting the rest of the agreement.

Copyright Infringement Claims

As an author-owned publishing company, Rockin’ K Publishers, LLC takes copyright infringement very seriously. Given any notice where copyright infringement is alleged, we will do all that is required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and all other applicable intellectual property laws.
